Why do atheists have such a cold view of life?

All Atheist are not cold. God put them on this earth for a purpose.If an atheist shows great compion to another human without believing in God does that not show how His love works.They share all the human elements with the rest of us.Joy,anger,hate and compion. Because of the humanity in them they see God (man in His Image and Likeness) they just don't know it.Some I have talked to equate God with the Easter Bunny or Santa.They question if there is a God why we kill in his name.They don't "see" or "feel"God in their hearts. They need proof,like a doubting Thomas..Sometime maybe at the time of death within that nanosecond they will.I hope they do.However I will respect them and not expect them to believe. God gives us life through our parents.God give us free will.He has many mansions and His may well be at the end of the expanding universe.Waiting for them with open arms or however He does it.Some are just not there yet but it is their choice.I always felt God has a sense of humor Atheists don't believe but they will talk about not believing and that puts God in their lives in a different form.
